Summary of Updates On The Search Engines

. Yahoo! users have started seeing full Bing results by August or September of 2010 year. Effectively this means that Search result on Yahoo.com and Bing.com are the same. Currently we are still waiting for the integration in Singapore.

. Bing copies Google Result? - This has been causing huge news online but Bing obviously denies such claims while Google provides evidence of this being true by creating absolutely false result with no meaning which bing copies.

. As of last month, Bing holds 30.01% of search volume in the US rising from 28.48%.

. Google on the other hand dropped from 66.69% to 64.42%

Personally i do believe that this is because of the fact that Internet Explore is still widely used. From evidence of my clients analytics close to 60% of people whom visit their site uses IE. IE default search is set to bing and as such contributes to the higher searches. Result wise, i still feel Google delivers much better result.

Other changes that have occured:

. Google "punished" JC penny on their SEO search Result. (One of the rare "punishment" behind dished out manually and to a well known name). Along with this came major algorithm change to clamp down on content spam site.

. Google introduces +like function

. Adwords ad title changed in format for 1st 3 places on sponsered search

. Change of Power in Google. CEO position handled by Page

. Dropped in Google shares as Google operating expense for 1st quarter increased 44% due mostly to increased hiring and pay increament to keep talent (all google employee got a 10% pay rise)
